Ginger Blossom

My new 1/2 yard pack of Ginger Blossom from Fabric.com came last week. Oh my! It’s beautiful!!! But, what should I make with it??? I have no idea. The fabric is wonderful though. Buy some, you will not regret it! It looks like they are already out of the 1/2 yard assortment packs though. Hopefully, they will re-stock soon! If you have any ideas as to what I should do with this lovely fabric, please let me know.

  1. Something that might be kinda fun is to make some coiled fabric baskets. I use to make these eons ago and they would look incredible with the fabric you have. Go to http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/ah_hobbies_interests/article/0,,HGTV_3121_1371266,00.html for directions. Or patchwork the material in 4″ squares then make an apron. http://www.jcarolinecreative.com/Merchant2/aproninstructions.html. If you wind up with skinny pieces make headbands. http://www.savvyseams.com/acc/headbands.php. If you can bear to part with any of the fabric make cute gift bags. http://www.savvyseams.com/acc/headbands.php. The possibilities are endless. Can’t wait to see what you decide to make 🙂

  2. It reminds me of Amy butler so much! Any of her patterns would look amazing with that fabric. I was even scoping out my fabric store for it, but didn’t see any.

  3. Atouria, that’s a good idea. I was just looking at the AB In Town Bags pattern the other day, and was thinking about trying it out.

Kim, headbands with the extra fabric is a great idea! And I’m intrigued by the idea of the coiled fabric baskets. I was just looking at some on Etsy the other day.

I’d love to make a skirt out of some of it. I just bought “Sew What! Skirts” but I think I should try one out with less expensive fabric first!
